Disrupting the Old, Growing the New

2026 is bringing a lot of change to our farm.

Each year at our church, everyone receives a “star word” to reflect on for the year. This year mine was disrupt.

Whew. That’s a strong word.

At first, I was a little taken aback. But the more I sat with it, the more it made sense. This feels like the year we break some old patterns and step into new things. There is stretching happening here — and a lot of excitement too. We can’t wait to share it with you!

We’re closing a 20-year chapter of raising lamb. That decision was incredibly hard. Our freezer is now sold out of all lamb cuts except rack of lamb, so if you’ve been meaning to grab some, now is the time.

We’re also considering raising turkeys this year. If you would love to see turkey return to Jako Farm, simply reply to this email and let us know!

In about a month, we’ll be rolling out some new cuts of pork — stay tuned for more details.

And that’s just the beginning. We have numerous new products in the works, including new cheeses and additional bone broth options, a farm store remodel is brewing, and I’m sure there are even more ideas that we haven’t dreamed up yet!

After months of prayer, patience, and trust — and a lot of waiting to see when the right people would step forward — we are thrilled to say that all of our farm positions are filled. We feel incredibly honored to have each of them here.

Farm Store Caretaker - Emma

Emma is the face you’ll likely see most often in the farm store. She keeps the shelves stocked, boxes up eggs, packages cheese, and helps with food processing behind the scenes.

“I grew up being taught that what we put into our bodies matters. I’m so excited to be part of a farm that holds that same value so strongly, and works to provide pure and healthy food for our community!”

Dairy Processing Specialist - Malena

Malena is busy in our processing room making all of our products become a reality. She has a background and passion working with food and we’re thrilled to have her on our team.

“I love taking what is raised here at Jako Farm and transforming it into wholesome, delicious food. Farm-fresh ingredients and thoughtful processing make every bite feel like home. There is real joy in cooking from the land.”

Livestock and Land Steward - Matthew

Matthew cares for the animals each day, mills chicken feed, and helps keep the many moving parts of the farm running smoothly. He has a solid background in agriculture and he’s excited to learn a whole new way of doing things here. We are also excited for him to be living in the cottage here at the farm!

“I’m enthused to be involved in the production of nutrient-dense food that is healing the land and our bodies. I strive to be a responsible steward of Creation, and I am proud to be part of a team that shares the same values.”

From Our Family to You

We are truly grateful to be your farmers.

We care deeply about the land, the animals, and the food that leaves this farm. We are not certified anything — you trust our word and our practices. That trust is not something we take lightly.

We are always just an email away if you have questions. We want you to feel connected to your farmer and confident in the food on your table.

Thank you for letting us be your farmers.
