It has been a few weeks since our dairy cows started their winter vacation. Their life is mostly the same as before, but now they get to sleep in a little later and don’t have the one-hour interruption of walking up to the barn to be milked each day.

While the cows get a break, that does not mean you need to take a break from raw dairy. During the winter we continue to make fresh cottage cheese, yogurt, and Greek yogurt. We also aim to keep frozen items like milk, kefir pops, squeezable yogurts, cream, butter, and wholesome delight in stock. Occasionally we run out of a few items in the late winter, so always feel free to reach out if you have inventory questions.

How is thawing milk going for you? It takes a bit to figure out your routine. If you have questions, please don’t hesitate to ask!
We always try to have a few gallons thawing in the farm store refrigerator to help you out.
Last Chance for Whole Lamb
If you enjoy lamb and want to stock your freezer with a whole lamb, this is your last chance until December of 2022. We will take orders through this Sunday, December 12.

Lamb is $5.25/lb hanging weight. A whole lamb averages 50 pounds and about 70% of that is take home meat. A processing fee of approximately $93 is also due to the butcher. You’ll spend approximately $350 for approximately 35 pounds of meat. Each animal is a different weight so each order will have a different price and quantity of meat.
Thank you for the leaves!
A HUGE thank you to everyone who put forth the extra effort to bring us your bags of leaves. If you still have some, feel free to drop them off outside the farm store any time.
