Detours ahead…

Do you ever have times in life where everything seems to take an unexpected detour? I think we can universally say 2020 has felt like one giant detour. We are experiencing a few small detours at the farm as well and wanted to keep you in the loop on a few things.

Egg Production

Remember a few weeks ago when I mentioned the bald eagle was going after the chickens? Well, we’re starting to see those effects with egg production. Please be mindful of others as you make your egg purchases. Eggs are limited and will be first come first served.

Cheese Changes…

You may have noticed that our cheese selection is starting to dwindle. Due to the increased demand for JakoPure dairy, we have had to scale back on our cheese making and selection for this year. We will have limited quantities of hard cheeses until next summer when we can produce more. For the time being, we are thrilled to announce that we have cheese curds in the store for the summer! Enjoy these little morsels of goodness!

Road Detour

And to top it off we have an actual road detour. Please come to the farm via Yoder Road for the next couple of weeks. Eales Road is closed between Wilson and Kent for road construction.

As I have personally wrestled with these detours, along with many others this year, I have again realized that I am not in control of this life. Coming back to my faith and my community is what is grounding me during this pandemic season. Thank you for being part of our amazing Jako Farm community. We love each of you and are grateful for the community we’ve created.

I’ll leave you with a quote that sums of this season of detours.

P.S.

Thank you for completing the survey and giving feedback about your anticipated Jako food purchases over the coming year! It was very helpful. We’re producing more food than ever to ensure we have plenty to eat throughout the year!

From all of us at Jako,
