3 Cool Weather Essentials

We’ve officially had our first frost and fall weather is here. I’m always excited to incorporate a few fall-ish things into our cooler weather routines.

1. Whipped Body Butter

Over the last few weeks, my skin has started demanding a little extra attention. JakoPure Whipped Body Butter is a life saver for dry skin.

Its base, beef tallow (fat), is incredibly nourishing for skin.

  • Cracked feet
  • Dry hands
  • Eczema
  • Scar Tissue

We’ve heard some pretty amazing stories over the years of what this body butter has healed. We simply combine beef tallow with organic olive oil and essential oils and a pretty magical thing happens.

2. Bone Broth

If you see any of us walking around the farm this time of year with a coffee mug, we’re probably sipping on bone broth; not coffee. Thaw a quart of JakoPure bone broth, warm it up, add some salt and you’re good to go. (I typically add 3/4 tsp of Redmond Sea Salt to each quart).

Bone broth is known for so many healing benefits.
  • Brain Health
  • Gut Health
  • Immune Health
  • Joint Health
  • Skin Health

Overall, bone broth is a great way to decrease inflammation and boost your health. Who doesn’t need that as we head into the winter?

Bone Broth is available in chicken, beef, lamb, and turkey.

3. Chicken Soup

It’s soup weather!! To change things up a bit, our family enjoys this Chicken Cider Stew recipe. It’s loaded with broth, chicken, sweet potatoes, apples, carrots, and apple cider. If you attended our fall Stand Up for Soil event three years ago, this was one of the soups on the menu that was a huge crowd pleaser!

P.S. Sweet potatoes are coming!

Last weekend our family all gathered to dig sweet potatoes. Anticipate seeing those in the farm store in about two weeks.

Here’s to enjoying cool weather delights.
